Home and Income - Fabulous 4 bed country house and holiday let in
popular rural location, with opportunity for further development.
Moorland House it situated in Draycott, Somerset in the Cheddar valley,
which is famed for its strawberries and cider. The main house is a four
bedroom period cottage, completely refurbished (re-wired, re-plumbed,
plastered, decorated etc.) located in a quite lane away from the main
road. The annex is on two floors and has been converted from the old
storage barn that once stood there. I must admit that the annex is my
favourite as we managed to retain the original beams in the roof space.
It has two rather large rooms, one on each floor and is ideal for a
granny annex, home for older dependent children or as a holiday let.
Both homes have fantastic views out over the Somerset levels and to sea
in the far distance.
There are extensive and spacious outbuildings and the garden is laid
mainly to lawn but there is a wonderful secluded patio area behind some
shrubs, where the old piggery stands, which is just perfect for your
outdoor tables and chairs, great for BBQ’s. Draycott is a typical
Somerset village where beautiful old cottages and period houses seem to
be thrown together in any available space and it give the village that
lovely old feeling with plenty of little side lanes and walkways hiding
away little gems. There are two pubs, a village shop and a post office
as well as a new village hall and green.
Bristol is about 35 minutes away, the airport about 20 minutes
and the M5 also about 20 minutes away – so access is great from just
about anywhere. The famous Cheddar gorge is on your doorstep and
only 5 minutes away. You have the beaches at Burnham on Sea and
Weston, both within easy travelling distance.
